Your first conversation

The fastest way to understand Kyra is to give it four things to do. Each one demonstrates a different half of the product, and together they take about ten minutes.

Open the app. The orb in the middle of the home screen is Kyra. Tap it to start talking.

“Remember that I prefer short written summaries over long ones.”

Kyra confirms in a sentence and moves on. That is a memory — a durable fact about you that shapes later conversations, not a note filed away somewhere.

Now try a note:

“Save a note: the three things blocking the launch are pricing, the onboarding copy, and the iOS build.”

That one becomes a Markdown file in a notebook, with a commit behind it. You can open it in the portal, edit it, and clone it to your laptop.

The distinction matters and it is worth learning early:

Say goodbye, end the session, then start a new one and ask:

“What did I say was blocking the launch?”

Kyra searches memories, notes, and past transcripts together and answers. This is the part that compounds — the more you capture, the better this gets, and it is the reason capture is worth doing casually rather than carefully.

“Draft a short message to the team about the launch blockers. Don’t send it.”

Two things to notice.

Kyra does not read the draft aloud. Long text is for looking at, not listening to — it lands on your screen and you get a one-line summary plus the choices it made.

And it did not send it. It would not have, even if you had not said so: sending is one of the actions that always stops and asks. See how much Kyra asks.

“Look into what changed in EU AI rules this year and write it up for me.”

Kyra acknowledges, tells you it will take a while, and hands control back to you immediately. You can carry on talking about something else, or end the session and put the phone in your pocket.

That is a background task. Check on it with “what are you working on?”, or open the queue from the home screen. When it finishes you get a notification and a result you can read, save to a notebook, or throw away.

  • The orb starts and ends sessions. Tap to talk, end when done.
  • Memory and notes are different things, and Kyra picks the right one — you can override it by saying which you want.
  • Speech is for headlines, the screen is for detail. Kyra will not read you a document.
  • Slow work goes to the background and reports back.
  • Consequential actions ask first, always.
