Voice sessions

A session is one continuous conversation. Kyra holds context inside it: pronouns work, “no, the other one” works, and you do not have to restate what you are talking about every turn.

Tap the orb on the home screen. The orb stays in the centre while the session is live and changes state as the conversation moves:

StateMeaning
ListeningYour turn.
ThinkingKyra is working on it.
SpeakingKyra’s turn.

Transcript lines appear above the orb; confirmations and actions appear below it. Tap End session when you are done.

Left alone, the orb rests. Occasionally it stirs — a slow lift in the glow, and the status reads Dreaming. It is decorative and entirely on your device; nothing is running and nothing is being listened to.

Ask her what she was dreaming about. She will tell you.

By default Kyra listens for the whole session and works out when you have finished speaking. In a noisy room, an open-plan office, or anywhere you would rather the microphone were not open, turn on Push-to-talk:

Settings → Voice → Push-to-talk

The live screen then shows a microphone button. Hold it to speak, release when done.

You can talk over Kyra. If it is halfway through an answer you do not need, just start speaking — it stops and listens. This is normal use, not a failure mode, and it is usually faster than waiting politely.

Useful mid-sentence interruptions:

  • “Short version.”
  • “Skip that.”
  • “Stop — I meant the other one.”

Each session is saved as a transcript you can read later in the portal under Transcripts. Kyra also searches transcripts when you ask about past conversations, which is why “what did we decide last week?” works without you having saved anything deliberately.

Anything durable — a preference, a decision — is separately stored as a memory. See what Kyra remembers.

Kyra takes phone calls. Call the Kyra number from your car and you get the same agent over a normal voice call — no app on the dashboard, no CarPlay or Android Auto integration needed, and no phone to hold.

Driving switches Kyra into its strictest register:

  • Voice only. No lists to look at, no menus, no documents read aloud.
  • Short turns. Confirm consequence, ask yes or no, move on.
  • Detail goes to the phone. “I’ll put that on your phone” means it is waiting for you when you park.

What works well while driving: capturing thoughts, asking questions, delegating work, approving or cancelling something, and asking what is waiting on you. What does not: anything you would need to read.

Kyra shows a status bar when the connection drops and reconnects on its own. In the car it also says so, since you cannot see a status bar.

If a session drops mid-thought, the transcript up to that point is kept.
